Callum was awarded Major Prize Winner of the 2019 Gallery M Open Contemporary Art Prize for his work ‘Intermission‘. He was a finalist in the 2019 4th Biennial RSASA Portrait Prize Exhibition and the 2017 Tatiara Art Prize. Since moving to Tarntanya/Adelaide in 2017, Callum has exhibited his work in solo and group exhibitions, along with participating in major arts festivals including the Adelaide Fringe, SALA and South Australia’s History Festival.

Callum’s work is held in public collections including the Hahndorf Academy, and various private collections across Australia.

“Guiding Docherty’s practice is a keen sense of observation. Alert to place and attuned to animate and inanimate forces, he is interested in the intersection of culture and nature. The artist’s porousness, a heightened sensitivity, is offset by clearly established parameters of engagement that frame his methodology.” Anna Zagala, Creative Director, Sweetpolka
